FAQ: Is Joe’s personality off the court similar to how he plays on the court?

This was a question I got a lot when Joe and I first started dating at Penn State.  Lots of girls wanted to know if the same Joe Crispin that seemed to have a reckless abandonment for all things logical on the court, was a reckless romantic off the court as well!  As I wrote about in Joe’s biography, he is certainly passionate about everything he does.  But this doesn’t really translate to him being any sort of wild card off the court, as he often can be on the court.  Joe is more a man of routine and familiarity.  We used to joke that there were only 2 places he ever took me to eat in State College.  And when we move to a place, we tend to find one or two places we like and rarely venture beyond that.  Joe is also more of a homebody and isn’t into going out much.  He can be very social and talkative when he is out, but usually prefers to relax at home.  This works well for us as we are both like this, so it doesn’t frustrate me in the least bit.  In fact, I like it.
