Joe is the big 3-0 today! Words can not adequately express the thankfulness that wells up in my heart for God creating this man. Joe is amazing in so many ways and I don’t want to bore you all with all the sappiness of my love for him. I do want to celebrate his life though and exalt in the work God has done in his heart to make him a man who loves and honors Jesus in all that he does.
Three years ago on his 27th birthday, I asked friends and family to give me one word to describe Joe and then explain why. Here are some of the words people came up with:
Ardent
Committed
Focused
Fruitful
Gentle
Insightful
Joyful
Passionate
Zeal
By God’s grace, Joe has grown in and refined those qualities over the past 3 years. But the quality I would say he has grown most in over the past year is humility/grace. Joe has developed a deeper grasp of the gospel and in turn has seen himself and others in view of Jesus’ work on the cross. This has made him a man of understanding, encouragement and hope, and for all of those things, I am a very grateful wife!
I pray God would give him many more years to draw upon the grace of Jesus and to be a vessel of that mercy in the lives of others. Happy birthday, Joe!
