It is hard to believe but it was three years I hit the publish button on my first post on this blog. It is neat to look back and see some struggles that have been conquered by God’s grace and other areas where He is still patiently teaching me.
To celebrate Married to a Baller’s third birthday, I am going to give away another gift card. If you would like to be entered to win $25 from Amazon or iTunes, you can do so in one of two ways. You can leave a comment here or on Facebook about one of your favorite posts that has appeared on the blog in the last three years. If you need ideas, you can check out the column on the right hand side of the Blog under the heading “Top Ten Posts” to check out the most popular posts over the last 6 months. Or you can give me some constructive criticism about what you would like to see more of, less of or just a simple suggestion. I would really enjoy those two to be combined even because encouragement and criticism are both two ways I can grow as a blogger.
You can enter until Friday at 5pm EST and I will post the winner shortly after selected randomly by your order entry from random.org.
Thanks for being such wonderful, encouraging readers. I look forward to seeing where this site may go in the next 3 years, Lord-willing.

Hey Erin,
Well first of all I love reading your blog. I enjoy the combination of life overseas, and everything that comes along with it, and your posts about life in general. Your honesty about life is what makes this blog so great, because it shows everyone struggles at some point, but the important thing is how you handle and learn from it. And of course your openness to discuss your relationship with God is also a huge plus and inspiration to me. I will say that one of my favorite posts to read are the interviews with fellow basket wives…they are always so interesting!
One thing I would love to know more about is what you cook for your family of 6 while living over here. We all know that cooking can be a challenge here and I can’t imagine trying to please six people at once! What is your secret? Do you have a go to recipe?

E,
I really enjoy reading your blog because your posts are thoughtful but not too lengthy. I especially love reading about your overseas living. One post that came to mind quickly was the Funky Bathrooms. I suppose I am a little biased with liking the culture aspect as I face different but similar challenges with the cultural struggles in Mexico. It is always nice to learn about how other cultures function even if it seems ridiculous to us. One of our teachers always said, “It’s not wrong, it’s not stupid, it’s just different.” It is helpful to know that living abroad isn’t always as glamorous as it sounds.
As for a suggestion, I have one about leaving comments. I’m not sure if this is possible but here is what I am thinking. When someone leaves a comment on your blog is there a way they can be notified, maybe via email, after you or someone else comments on the same post, you know like how facebook does that? Sometimes I comment and then you write back but I never know because I forget to look and see if you replied to a comment I posted.
Great job with the blogging! Keep up the diligence and interesting material!
so thankful you post, erin…my favorite that i can think of was the 31 things for your 31st b-day…loved learning some new things about you and officially want you to come live with my family if we have any more children and be our nanny
please!! much love to you…
I like all your post! One of my favorites was reading about basket wife Cara! She was the first wife I had on a team and built a relationship with!
Hi Erin! I have really enjoyed reading your blog and learning about your life and adventures and experiences through your posts. Your entries have also served as regular encouragement to me and you have found a way to be both entertaining and informative which I appreciate. My favorite post is actually the one you did a while ago about how Abby and Elijah demonstrate pride in different ways–one gets angry and one gets sad–but both are examples of the same mindset. I had never really looked at how pride manifests itself that way and found it to be very helpful. So thanks and keep up the good work!
My favorite post has always been You Can’t Be a 10 in Everything (http://www.marriedtoaballer.com/you-cant-be-a-10-in-everything/), and over all my favorites are the basketwife profiles and posts where you reveal your struggles. No, I do not find joy in seeing you struggle– those posts show the realness that is sometimes lost when all shared is joyful and perfect. It reminds me that we are all a work in progress, and I need to be careful in what I am working towards being a 10 in and let the other things go.

Well, I wish I would’ve seen this sooner but nonetheless, you know I am an avid reader. I go to your blog to get encouraged and uplifted. As some of the other ladies said…it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who struggles in this life. Your blog serves as a reference point and a support site for me, thank you!
My suggestion.,.can you please put a page with all your recipes?!?! ;0) We miss seeing you and love you girl! Congrats on 3 years of touching women’s lives!
Thanks girl. I appreciate you still commenting. Maria linked to some of my recipes on her site and I am going to keep adding there, as well as do a little series on cooking as per Jenny’s request
For those looking for some of Erin’s recipes, she is posting some at http://www.mealswithmariaandfriends.com

Hi Erin,
You do a great job on your blog. Your posts are well-thought and articulated. My favorite posts are your top 10 reading lists for each year!
Alex
Thanks, Alex. I like those posts too b/c you share your favorites as well, whcih is where I always get some good history and literature books from!
I know I’m way late on this one but I thought I’d give you some feedback anyways.
I enjoy all of your posts, but I especially like when you try to give some biblical perspective on some of the day to day struggles we all face. It’s always food for thought! I also enjoy your product recommendations and the series you have done (Divorce in Professional Athletics and the one on wives of professional athletes).
I would love to see you do a post about what a typical day is like in your household, if there is such a thing. I know with four kids there are many needs and schedules to balance so I’m just curious how it all fits together. Congrats on 3 years of blogging and keep up the good works!

Thanks so much, Ally. I think I am actually going to do a type of posts called “A Day in the Life” and post a detailed walk through of my day every so often, just to give a glimpse into my life
Next Wednesday I will introduce it and then do two posts. I recorded yesterday and am recording today too. It isn’t always pretty, but I think through the day, I can share some tips and struggles as well! Great idea
