Showing Her Independence

Naomi informed me the other week that she wanted to get her hair cut short…like Rapunzel at the end of “Tangled”. Now many of you know why I shudder every time I hear one of my girls say they want their hair cut like a character. But this time I was in the U.S. and I wasn’t getting my hair cut too, so I felt pretty safe.

We headed into the mall and even though I had asked Naomi a number of times if she was sure she wanted her hair cut short, the woman cutting her hair wanted to make sure too. Although Naomi is shy, she stood her ground on it…she wanted short hair. So she climbed up into the chair and we took one last picture of her long locks.

After a huge chunk came off, the hairdresser asked her if it was short enough and she gave a quick head shake to let us know it still wasn’t short enough. At that point, Abby and Elijah were done and getting lollipops so she became preoccupied with that, otherwise when she was asked again if it was short enough, I think she might have said “no” again. But I think the end product is adorable. I love this girl!
