Sorry I have been missing for a few days. Last week my posts had been scheduled, so that I didn’t have to think about blogging when we first got home on Wednesday evening. This week I had thought I would be able to get back into the swing of things, but with being 3.5 weeks from my due date, unpacking and seeing people at home, and caring for our three children, things have taken a bit more time. You should see my laundry pile right now! I will try to post tomorrow more on how the transition home has gone this time.
But for today, I thought I would post some answers to a few questions I was just asked for a story they are writing in Brindisi. I am not sure how the translation from English to Italian will go, so here is what I said in English about our experience in Brindisi:
1. What do I like about Brindisi?
Brindisi was a good experience for me mainly due to the club and the fans. In the past, many clubs have been too uptight about winning and it has taken away from the joy of the game of basketball. The club management and coaches have been relaxed this year, which has made it a nice place to be because you aren’t dealing with so much pressure. The fans have also been a joy to us as they are always supportive and kind to our family.
2. What will I remember about this season?
I am hoping to remember a championship! It would be a joy to see Joe to be a part of a team moving up to A1 and experiencing the excitement of that with him and the city of Brindisi.
3. What does it mean to be married to Joe Crispin in Brindisi?
It is a pleasure to be married to Joe no mattter where we are! I love supporting a man who loves God, cherishes his wife and cares for his children the way that Joe does. Basketball is a wonderful tool in Joe’s life to make him into the man God wants him to be. Fans do not always get to see all that God is working in his life, but I do get to see the way he is growing as a person behind the scenes and it is a privilege to be able to be on that journey with him.
4. How have we faced difficult times in the league?
This season hasn’t been easy all the time. There have been losses, team struggles and other issues that can be tough to deal with. Our foundation for our family though is looking to how God is working in each and every circumstance. Although we may desire for things to be easy, we know that the hard times bring us closer to God and one another. In the large picture of life, basketball is not the end of the world. We hope to keep a healthy perspective about the important things in life and to give thanks to God for all that He gives us every day. We have much to be thankful for.
5. Do we talk about basketball outside of Sundays?
Basketball is a huge part of our lives, so there is discussion of basketball almost every day in our home. As I mentioned before though, it is more in relationship to what God is doing in our lives through it. We aren’t big on reading lots of media or checking up on other teams. Joe stays focused on how he can perform his job the best to God’s glory and so that is what most of our talk revolves around.
Overall, we have really enjoyed our time in Brindisi and are thankful to the many people who have made it a special time for our family. We are hoping to celebrate a Lega Due championship at the end of the season!

I think you should post a picture of the laundry pile. LOL!
Welcome back to the US.
