Spotlight Saturday: Roomba and Scooba

This summer I took the plunge and bought 2 robotic cleaners: the Roomba and Scooba.  I had seen the products before, but hadn’t thought too much about them until our neighbor in State College mentioned that she had a Scooba.  She had already done the hard research of finding the best prices so I started to think about how much they would help with having 2 homes to keep clean.  After looking at our budget and weighing the different pros and cons, I decided to get both the vacuum (Roomba) and floor cleaner (Scooba).  As soon as they came they were put to work and quickly became known as my “2 new best friends”.  They are great!  Not perfect because there are kinks in any electronic product.  But for what I need them for, they have really been fabulous.  And as my neighbor mentioned, the iRobot customer service is great.  My Scooba’s charger failed right before we left to come to Italy.  I e-mailed them about the problem and they contacted me back very quickly.  I had to give the serial number, where and when I bought the products from and my shipping address, and a new charger was sent to me.  This could be a great Christmas gift idea for that special someone on your list (did I just mention Christmas shopping in September???)
